April 10, 2009 – Scott D. Papasodora, 50, of Minneapolis, formerly of Cass Lake, died Monday, April 6, 2009, in Minneapolis. He was born Jan. 11, 1959, to Samuel and Evelyn Papasodora in Minneapolis. He enjoyed the sport of boxing. He started boxing at the age of 10, in Minneapolis. He went on to win several city of Minneapolis Golden Glove titles, National Indian Boxing titles representing the Leech Lake Boxing Club, eventually winning the Upper Midwest Golden Gloves title. He boxed professionally from 1980-1991, with the highlight of his boxing career being on Sept. 18, 1990, when he defeated three-time World Champion Wilfred Benitez in Canada. His career record was: won 16 (KO 7) + lost 7 (KO 3) + drawn 1 = 24.
