Ring 4 Boxing Hall of Fame Class of 2012

Ring 4 held their annual award banquet on April 22, 2012 at Florian Hall, Dorchester, Massachusetts.

The 2012 inductees are: Charlie Dwyer: All Marine heavyweight champion and retired professional referee, Joey DeGrandis: Three time world title challenger, Jimmy Harrison (posthumous): Former New England professional heavyweight boxer, Chester Finn: (posthumous) Longtime Greater Boston boxing trainer.

Special Awards were given to: Ted Sares: Humanitarian Award, Joe Feeney: Brother in Boxing Award, Marion Connors: Warrior Award.

Memorial Awards: David Petronelli: Goody Petronelli Memorial, Noreen Minelli: Ernie Minelli Memorial, Tom & Christine Brown: Mary Jo Brown Memorial and Jimmy Devlin: Joe Devlin Memorial.

Ring 4 Memorial Dedication: Thomas William “Big Tom” McNeeley was a fine football player and boxer at Michigan State University (MSU). But he quit the gridiron for the boxing ring and had his first pro bout in Norwood, Massachusetts on July 17, 1958. He retired from boxing-not before he fought Floyd Patterson for the heavyweight title in 1961-in 1966 with a 37-14 record. He then went on to serve eight distinguished years as Commissioner of the Massachusetts State Boxing Commission. Big Tom was a legend within the Boston boxing community.
