Campbell was actually a Light Heavyweight but won the Heavyweight Champion of Oregon during the late 1880s During his career, he defeated such men as Peter Lawler, Bill Hill, Jack Langdon, Joe Godfrey, Bill Dunn and Larry Sullivan; He is most famous for his "Draw" against Jim Corbett in 1889
