Out of Massachusetts, was born in Italy. Embarked on a boxing career at the turn of the century and traded punches with them all, including Champions Jimmy Walsh, Owen Moran, George "Digger" Stanley, Joe Bowker, and Johnny Kilbane. Delmont journeyed to England in 1907, where he lost a 20-rounder to Moran at London and won a foul in 17 rounds over Digger Stanley at Liverpool. Norman Hurst, Outstanding British Sportswriter, described the Moran contest as "The Whirlwind Fight of the punching Demons". This battle was held at the National Sporting Club and widely recognized as for the World Bantam Crown vacated by Walsh in 1906. Walsh campaigned as a Featherweight contender and was subsequently stopped by Abe Attell for the Title. Moran soon outgrew the Bantam Division and, in 1908, twice challenged Attell for the 126-pound Throne at San Francisco. Both contests were ruled draws over 25 and 23 rounds. Delmont whipped Bowker in 12 sessions at Boston during 1909. A right hand uppercut decked the Englishman for a "9" count, his first ring appearance in the United States.

Some other combatants Delmont defeated were: Patsy McKenna, Young Brooks, Eddie Carr, Joe Wagner, Johnny Lynch, Willie Schumacher, Rouse O'Brien, Newsboy Monk, Willie Gibbs, Kid Murphy, Eddie Gardner, Ike Bradley, Darkey Haley, 4immy Moran, Percy Cove, Nap Dufresne, Phil McGovern, Young Dyson, Freddy O'Brien, Biz Mackey, Bob Tickle, Harry Davis, Young Britt, Monte Attell, Tommy Houck, Young Yelle, Young Pierce, Paddy Callahan, and Chick Suggs, among others. Delmont was never stopped in over 175 fights. He passed away in 1963.
