McAllister was an
outstanding talent; He officially lost but four bouts during his career;
Jack Dempsey and Mike Gibbons were two of the men who defeated
him; Even his "No Decision" newspaper verdicts were nearly all
wins
He possessed good height, reach, movement and hitting power
and was skillful in almost all aspects of the game; He won a number of
Amateur Championships of the Pacific Coast
during his career
During his career, McAllister defeated
such men as Willie Meehan, Paddy Lavin, Black Bill (Claude Brooks),
"Big" Bill Tate, Tony Ross, Al Norton, "Montana" Dan Sullivan and
"Fighting" Billy Murray |
