Wallace was a scrappy and clever fighter who moved well and hit hard; He was quick on his feet and game; During his career, he won the Bantamweight Championship of England

He is most famous for his World Bantamweight Championship fight with George Dixon; Wallace defeated such men as William Wallis, Charles Smith, Jack Mills, Charley Roberts, George Camp, Charley Jones, Dick Walton and "Little" Bill Goode
