My New Piano Composition, The Goldfield Rag, Dedicated to the Memory and Legacy of Joe Gans’s Goldfield Hotel by Eric B. Thompson

I’d like to share with the membership my new piano composition, The Goldfield Rag, inspired by the memory and legacy of boxing great Joe Gans’s Goldfield Hotel, one of the first if not the first so-called black and tan clubs in American history, estd. 1907 in Baltimore, MD. Premiered at the 2022 Scott Joplin International Ragtime Festival in Sedalia, MO last week by my good friend, Jonathan Levin.
